Web Based e-Signature - DRS PharmaSync® 5.0
Choosing the right hardware and/or OS...
I am sure that, like so many others, you are trying to decide which OS and/ or hardware to deploy.PC, tablet and mobile are a just few of the many hardware options one must consider when making this decision. In addition within this group are seemingly countless versions of the most popular operating systems. Even as a company that creates and writes software applications, we face a similar conundrum.
Over the past few years we have transitioned all of our applications and services to the web. In fact, we have been offering our software applications over the web since 2006. So while many companies are just now getting on board with "going to the cloud" DRS has a long held position in this computing environment.
When surveying the landscape that is the alphabet soup of hardware and software companies, DRS decided to not choose any one system in particular. Instead, we adapted our applications to be truly ubiquitous.
HTML5
HTML5 is the latest version of HTML and XHTML. The HTML5 standard defines a single language that can be written in HTML and XML. It attempts to solve issues found in previous iterations of HTML and addresses the needs of Web applications, an area previously not adequately covered by HTML. What does this mean to the everyday user? HTML5 is now part of the standard for all browsers that have been released over the last 18 months. Regardless of the hardware, this is the defining standard for all browsers. This is the standard that DRS has chosen to use as the "plumbing" for our PharmaSync 5.0 application. After ubiquity, the next most important feature / benefit of HTML5 is the ability to use applications on or offline.

HTML5: CLIENT-SIDE STORAGE
HTML5 introduced a storage mechanism called Global Storage. In short, it is a memory space given by the browser that websites can use to store persistent data that doesn't need to be sent to the server.HTML5 persistent storage is of two forms:

PharmaSync® 5.0 is the latest version of the Data Reduction Systems (DRS) patented, real-time pharmaceutical sampling data collection tool. PharmaSync 5.0 brings to market a 21 CFR Part 11-compliant product sampling and accountability system developed not as a software application but rather as a cloud-based service specifically for the browser. Capable of functioning on or off-line, PharmaSync 5.0 cuts through the highly fragmented mobile market as it will run on most OS platforms including Apple, Android, Symbian, Microsoft Windows and BlackBerry, and it can be deployed on any capacitive tablet or mobile device.
PharmaSync 5.0 is one of the key components of the DRS PDMA OneSource suite of products and services. PharmaSync 5.0 continues in the spirit of its predecessor whereby it incorporates the best features of this patented modular application with technology that is available today. DRS will continue to lead the charge and explore the best methodology to deliver our products and services.
